This work was inspired by the iPhone logo. According to the concept, the apple depicted here is the same one that appears in the Bible. Just as we accepted the apple in the Garden of Eden in pursuit of divine knowledge — and with it, fell into earthly existence — today we follow the same symbol as we enter virtual existence. Botticelli’s Venus (1485–86) as Eve and Michelangelo’s David (1501–04) as Adam. Both masterpieces were created in Florence and represent the two main sources of European cultural history: the Greco-Roman and the Judeo-Christian. The Western relationship to science, the supernatural, and the individual was born out of the fusion of these two worlds. The Renaissance brought the rediscovery of antique knowledge and placed the individual alongside the collective. The artwork printed on this case is a high-resolution scan of an original, hand-drawn ink illustration. The detailed line work is preserved through museum-quality digital processing and precision printing, ensuring the final result remains faithful to the original.
